Marite’s photography captures subcultures and outsiders—strippers, pole dancers, fetish clubbers, stilt walkers, and more—revealing how they see the world differently.
Her 2008 exhibition The Yorkway Scene at Kurb Gallery, Northbridge, drew from life in a wild London council block, exploring women’s bodies, self-perception, and the contrasting views society projects onto them.
Often surreal, her images brim with grunge, sexual innuendo, unexpected encounters, and charged settings.
